Shaky Beats Music Festival is a brand-new, beat-driven, 18+ event from the same people who brought you Shaky Knees Music Festival. The first-EVER Shaky Beats Fest will be in Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia. It's scheduled to rain, so don't forget to bring a poncho! We decided to go ahead and let you know our picks for the weekend, in case you need any help choosing.
Everyone is going to see Major Lazer, and the crowd will naturally split for Duke Dumont and Zhu, but you might want to check out Esta if you like chill vibes and Classixx for the daytime dance party. Jai Wolf will bring some quality future bass, but we're also curious about Yeasayer, who we haven't seen in Atlanta in a while. They're a fantastic band if you're looking for some live instruments this weekend.
Fans of indie electronica will appreciate Com Truise and STRFKR, while hip-hop heads have obvious choices in Tory Lanez, Lunice, and Watch The Duck. While everyone I've spoken to is excited for Porter Robinson and Marshmello, I hope people make time to check out Cherub and Trippy Turtle.
Today is the day EDM and hip-hop merge, but I'm spending my energy on NGHTMRE and Treasure Fingers before Nas takes us back in time. Keep an eye on local HXV, as there's no telling if you'll be treated to a techno set or some dirty south trap.
