New York producer DJ Cassidy gifted us with a new single, “Honor” on April 7 featuring Australian bombshell, GRACE, as well as Atlanta native and rising trap star, Lil Yachty. Again in the spirit of giving, DJ Cassidy released a music video for “Honor” today that features a scantily-clad GRACE and Lil Yachty covered in women.
Soul Bounce has said of the single, “While not quite hip-hop or straight R&B, the track gives us a great blend of the two, along with a dash of sass and drama.” This feeling comes through in a video that contains dashes of multiple musical and cinematic influences.
Directed by fashion photographer Sasha Samsonova, the video takes place in multiple rooms of a 1960s Palm Springs home. Each room is monochromatic and is made to express a certain set of tones, themes, and emotions. DJ Cassidy is featured as the cameraman, which gives the video a bit of a meta spin to it.
The song is set to be included in Netflix’s The Get Down as well as on the accompanying “The Get Down Part II Soundtrack.”
