Tim John, the bass player for the Aussie pop outfit, The Griswolds, announced his imminent departure from the band yesterday afternoon. The band has been together since 2012 and recently released their sophomore album High Times for Low Lives

John made the announcement on Instagram, stating that “[n]othing contentious” caused him to leave, and that he would not make his exit until the end of the current tour.

The band has made no official comment on what direction they will take once the tour is completed, but singer Chris Whitehall and drummer Lachlan West tweeted their sorrow at the end of the Tim John era of The Griswolds history.

The Griswolds were recently in Atlanta at Masquerade where we were able to interview co-songwriter and guitar/synth player Danny Duque-Perez before Tim’s final visit to Atlanta. Read it here and relive Tim John's last show in the A.
