The Orwells' Mario Cuomo releases new EP "Sextape" with side project Nympho Maniax

Chicago-based rockers, The Orwells are well-known for their raucous shows and provocative lyrics. However, their newest album, Terrible Human Beings, has marked a shift in the band’s songwriting to a more focused and narrative style with songs like “They Put a Body in the Bayou” and “Hippie Soldier,” but lead singer Mario Cuomo has recently launched a new side project, named Nympho Maniax, which gives him an outlet for his raunchiness and debauchery.

On Tuesday, May 16, “MC-MC” and “Dubby Mac” released their first EP, Sex Tape, on YouTube. They announced the release via an Instagram post on each of their personal Instagram accounts as well as the recently created Nympho Maniax official account.

Where The Orwells embody “sex, drugs, and rock & roll,” Nympho Maniax are purely sex and drugs. With no track titles listed in the video and only two songs previously released and named, it’s hard to precisely discuss this fresh release, but let me tell you that it’s a completely unique project, unlike anything I’ve heard before. The was posted on Mario’s personal YouTube account and features only a picture of the EP’s cover art, but recent Instagram posts signify that a music video is on its way.
